On December 17, the 5th General Election and 2024 Academic Annual Meeting of the Dental Materials Professional Committee, Shanghai Stomatological Association, was successfully held at the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
At the meeting,
Professor Lin Kaili, the former chair of the Dental Materials Professional
Committee, first reviewed the main work during his term and presented the 2024
work summary report of the committee. Subsequently, Chief Physician Sun Jian,
Secretary-General of the Shanghai Stomatological Association, read out the
"Approval of the Request for the General Election of the 5th Dental
Materials Professional Committee." The General Election was presided over
by Chief Physician Li Xiaomei from the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval
Medical University. According to the election method, 17 standing committee
members, 5 vice-chairpersons, and 1 chairperson of the 5th Dental Materials
Professional Committee were elected. Afterward, Secretary-General Sun Jian
presented the appointment letter to the newly elected Chairperson, Researcher
Liu Xin, and congratulated on the successful completion of the election of the
5th Dental Materials Professional Committee.
The newly
elected Chairman, Researcher Liu Xin, delivered a speech, expressing gratitude
to Professor Sun Jiao, the former honorary chairperson, for her hard work in
the Dental Materials Professional Committee. She also stated that she would
strengthen scientific research cooperation between basic research on dental
materials and other related fields in the future to promote the development of
dental materials and academic exchanges across disciplines.
In the academic
report session, the meeting invited Associate Professor Yang Shengbing from the
Ninth People's Hospital to share an excellent report on "Research on
Antibacterial Biomaterials." Professor Chen Feng from Shanghai
Stomatological Hospital (Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Stomatology)
gave a report titled "Functional Regulation and Tissue Repair Applications
of Biomimetic Calcium Phosphate Composite Biomaterials," which sparked
heated discussions among the delegates. Material research is one of the
hotspots in the field of stomatological scientific research. This academic
annual meeting provided a platform for exchanges between material research
scholars and clinicians, promoting academic exchanges involving multiple
specialties and disciplines such as dental materials and stomatology, and
facilitating the dissemination and transformation of scientific research
achievements as well as cross-disciplinary cooperation.
Finally, the
first plenary committee meeting/standing committee meeting of the 5th term was
held to discuss the committee's work plan for the next year. Professor Liu Xin
put forward requirements for the work of the new Dental Materials Professional
Committee, hoping that the newly elected committee members would actively
participate in the committee's activities, carry out work in academic
exchanges, science popularization activities, party building, and other
aspects, make full use of WeChat groups to provide suggestions and ideas on the
committee's platform, strengthen academic exchanges, and better promote the
research and application development of dental materials.
